It was a remark that determined the direction of the SNAP.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\n    In the summer of 2018, the development of the SNAP, my first project as a designer, began.\u003cbr\u003e\n    Days of grappling with an unfamiliar sewing machine, bringing ideas to life, and repeatedly testing began.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\n    I believed that waterproofing was essential for a pouch, an item meant to hold important things. To prevent water from entering the pouch even in sudden rain, I focused on waterproof performance using special fabrics and waterproof zippers, creating many prototypes. Before I knew it, over 20 prototypes had piled up on my desk.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\n    When I showed one of those prototypes to Shotaro Takahashi, his response was the comment at the beginning.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\n    I suddenly snapped back to reality. My focus on the pouch's waterproofing had resulted in a pouch with poor accessibility and low practicality.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\n    \"This won't do,\" I thought, and decided to rethink new ideas from scratch.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\n    Instead of making the main body waterproof, why not simply remove it quickly if it starts to rain?\u003cbr\u003e\n    That's it! Let's create an accessible pouch with quick attach-and-detach functionality!\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\n    At that moment, my vision cleared, and I felt like I saw the goal.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\n    To quickly attach and detach the pouch from a backpack, a new, unprecedented removal method needed to be developed.\u003cbr\u003e\n    It had to be easy to remove, yet firmly secured to the harness. I racked my brain over these conflicting requirements. The answer I finally arrived at was a flap called \"SNAP FLAPS,\" which uses the shoulder harness as a stopper to secure the main body.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\n    This flap made it possible to quickly attach the pouch without removing the backpack even while active, and to easily detach it and wear it after taking the pack off.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\n    From drawing sketch lines to using the sewing machine, I received repeated critiques from Saito and remade prototypes, enhancing the SNAP's completeness as a tool.
